New Year, New Beginnings & Sandy Benefit

Why, hello fellow beaders!  We hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season! 

This Saturday, January 12, 2012 from 4pm - 2am, please join the Ship Bottom Fire Company at the Surf City Fire House for the Sandy Blows LBI Hurricane Benefit.  As you all know, LBI was hit during hurricane Sandy and our Ship Bottom Fire Company lost 3 firetrucks and their firehouse was completely flooded out during the storm.  Suggested donation of $10.00 per person is appreciated with all proceeds going to the Ship Bottom Fire Co to help LBI businesses and families affected by Hurricane Sandy.  For more information on the event, please go to: My LBI Life: Sandy Blows.

Just Bead It will be contributing with some bracelets and necklaces for purchase!

• Our Stone Harbor store is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11ish-5ish.

Good afternoon, Beadniks everywhere!   

 
In case there’s someone out there, like me, who hasn’t quite gotten into the holiday spirit and still needs to do the bulk of their holiday shopping/crafting/dreaming/planning/baking/creating/decorating, I have news for you!  Just Bead It is standing in 3 locations right NOW with arms wide open waiting for the masses to huddle next to us by our heaters and bead our little hearts out. I’ve been saying this again and again, but who among you out there doesn’t want a handmade gift from the heart?  The Scrooges and the Grinches, that’s who! It’s been an extremely trying past couple months for a lot of us and I think, from a personal standpoint, the more thought and love that’s put into each gift, the more meaningful it is.  But where, oh where, do we get inspired?! Lucky for us there are a ton of websites out there with a billion ideas.  And guess what! We have the means to recreate many of the most popular jewelery on the market.  And guess what else!  You get bonus points for supporting a local business!  

Speaking of technology, Just Bead It is now on Pinterest Which if you don’t know, is the highly addictive internet equivalent of clipping pictures from your favorite magazines and sharing them with all your friends.  So look us up and follow our boards!  We're also offering a deal that if you "like" our facebook page and then come into the store, we will give you a free pair of earrings AND 10% off your entire purchase (Trollbeads excluded)

As always, we are offering classes and workshops for all ages.  New pricing is in effect: $20 per class with supplies additional.  Teach a (wo)man to fish, as they say, and (s)he’ll never go hungry.  Or teach someone how to bead and they’re never without a gift in a pinch. We are also about to receive a nice order of our lovely Trollbeads (Vermont store only) and are proud to announce that we have made a sterling silver bead of a bear!  It was designed and carved right in shop by me! I had so much fun!  

On the left side, you can see a bear peeking around the corner of a very well textured stump.  

And lastly, in order to support victims of Hurricane Sandy, we are selling Jersey Strong necklaces in all shops for $19.97 each.  Portions of the sale goes right back into helping those who were affected by the storm.

Post Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy was 100 times worse than expected.  If you read our last blog post, we expected to be opened that following weekend, unfortunately Hurricane Sandy had other plans.  Our North Beach Haven store on Long Beach Island got hit badly just like many of the other homes and businesses along the Jersey Shore.  But nothing will stop Just Bead It from rebuilding!  We've experienced floods, a fire, and mini earthquake.  So a hurricane is not going to stop us!  Check out our Facebook page for some pics of our post-hurricane clean up and for future updates on our store.

Our Stone Harbor, NJ store is opened for our Jersey Beaders and our Stratton, VT store is reopened for the winter season!  You can also visit us at justbeadit.net for all your beading supplies and fuession.com for holiday jewelry gifts.

Beading with Hurricane Sandy!

Due to the expectant visit from Hurricane Sandy this weekend, we will be closed until Thursday (11/1) or Friday (11/2) of next week. But we are open today, Saturday 10/27 in both Surf City and North Beach Haven stores (until 4 or 5ish). So stop in and stock up on your favorite beads and findings so you can bead while "Sandy" makes her way through the Jersey Shore. It's the perfect project to keep kids and adults busy during this storm.

Fall/Winter Seasons Preview

Although summer is practically done, that doesn't mean your visits to Just Bead It has to end! During the Fall/Winter seasons, Just Bead It in North Beach Haven, NJ will be open 7 days a week, and our Surf City and Stone Harbor stores will be open as well! (Days and hours will vary)

During the Off Season, we will be updating our handcrafted jewelry, as well as hold Birthday Parties and Girl Scout Troop parties (they can earn their bead badge!). As always, we will continue on with our Bead Happy Hour on Thursday Nights from 4:30-6:30.

Workshops are still available and are very flexible with scheduling, so if you are interested in a certain class, please call ahead of time.
